1937 airmail envelope Hungary – Singapore with F.A.M. 14 Flight Hong Kong to San Francisco – USA – planned with Hindenburg to Hungary
130 €
An extremely interesting piece of postal history:
When the letter was dispatched on 9 April, it was scheduled to return on the Hindenburg, but the Hindenburg crashed on 6 May, so it certainly could not carry the letter on the return trip in early May. According to the postmarks, the route included the following stops:
1. Budapest: 09/04.
2. Singapore: 14/04.
3. (Hong Kong?)
4. San Francisco: 04/05.
5. Springfield arrival in 06/05 –
There, the letter was franked again and sent back to Hungary.
6. Springfield: 06/05. sending
7. New York: 07/05.
8. Budapest: 17/05.
